*** Letter to the South Australian Public ***
Today, Tue, 9 Dec 2025 is International Anti-Corruption Day.
"Some of the most serious corruption cases in Australia have involved a public officer manipulating contracts for personal gain." - ICAC
Corruption undermines democracy and the rule of law, leads to human rights crimes, worsens poverty, facilitates organized crime and in extreme cases finances armed conflict and terrorism.
Corruption by government officials (as an example) is especially unforgivable. Where our elected officials and public officers are intended to embody the principles of integrity and accountability and often serve as the detection method for such corruption, when they are not participating in their role in good faith it undermines the trust that citizens place in their Government and authorities.
*In recognition of the significance of today’s international observance, I am formally requesting that my State and Federal representatives take stronger action to ensure;
South Australia is held to the standards its citizens expect and deserve.
Warm holiday wishes to all. Stay safe, look after one another, and enjoy the season.
Sincerely,
Bill Jackson
Business Administrator
