* Public Statement by Jacksons Supplies Business Administrator, Bill Jackson *

This is something I’ve wanted to get off my chest for a while, worded specifically to adhere to the objections of government oversight agencies that uphold this is not a matter for the public interest. Regarding my business, I’ll be the judge of that.

Late 2023, we heard from a trusted partner that a certain group had told them that we (Jacksons Supplies) don’t pay our bills and are insolvent and entering voluntary administration. This allegation was taken seriously and reported.
Mid-2024, we heard from another trusted partner that a certain group had told them that we (Jacksons Supplies) are insolvent and entering into voluntary administration.

These allegations are completely false and were made by the same group, to our network of trusted partners. Today I am generously choosing to omit the names of the offending individuals and their departments.

Let’s pause and be real about what this sort of rumour actually does. When you’re on the outside, it might just seem like a bit of talk. But when it’s your business, your staff, and your reputation, these words hit differently. When someone throws around terms like "insolvent" or "administration" without a shred of truth behind them, it’s more than an inconvenience—it’s hurtful. These kinds of rumours make my staff, coworkers, and partners start to wonder if their pay and jobs are safe. Families begin to second-guess their future for no good reason. Partners and suppliers suddenly question relationships we’ve built over years, all because of some offhand comment made by people with questionable intentions.

Small businesses like ours work hard for every bit of trust and respect we earn. We’re not the ones with big PR budgets to clean up messes we didn’t make. These sorts of attacks cut deep, and it isn’t fair—not to me, not to my team, and not to the families that rely on us. I’d bet that anyone reading this, if they were in my shoes, would feel exactly the same way.

For the record: Jacksons Supplies are not insolvent, nor in any sort of administration arrangement, nor are we expecting any such situation. If you hear otherwise—out of Murray Bridge, Pooraka, or anywhere else—come to me directly. You wouldn’t be the first or the second, and I guarantee your confidentiality.

It sure looks like these allegations have been thrown around to interfere with our business. And yes, it’s caused harm. If you were in my position as a small business owner, working hard every day, you’d know how wrong that feels. I strongly encourage those directly responsible to show some integrity and actually answer their phones with a problem-solving attitude, instead of deflecting and hiding behind convenient systems.

So if you hear anything strange about our business, contact me directly. I’m not putting this out there to generate negative media attention for anyone—in fact, my goal is the exact opposite. The reality is, a well-placed media article would spread the truth about this story a lot faster than the slow burn of negative slander made in incredibly poor taste. I’d much rather people hear the facts straight from the source than deal with endless whispers and rumours.

If you have any questions, concerns, or information to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly:

I expect and welcome the support of the community—however, I am not looking forward to the 'drama.' I also encourage the involvement of interested advocates and government, regardless of my status as their constituency, should it interest them or overlap with their portfolio.

As of Thursday, Jul 31, 2025, this is about as much as I’m able to put out there. I’ll answer what I can, and I’ll make note if anything else of relevance comes up down the track—hopefully when I’m not so tied down by a system that’s meant to be in place to protect us.

Sincerely,
Bill Jackson
